New Flag!

Recently there has been a lot of talk and debate about changing the NZ flag. So this blog post is about my opinions on changing our countries flag.


Right lets get started, I strongly think that this flag business is a big waste of time and money. Here are some reasons why I don't think the flag should be changed.

• The flag is not going to attract tourists, People don't visit countries based on what their flag looks like.
• 26 million dollars is going into this project and there is a chance that they won't even change the flag.
• We have to think of all our brave New Zealanders that have passed on for instance the ANZACs. Would they really want that flag that the fought under thrown away?
• When Valerie Adams won the gold medal for shotput at the Olympics she proudly held the NZ flag. Those proud moments would begin to seem old and forgotten just because it was the old flag 

Ok, now for some reasons why the flag should be changed.

• Um, I guess some of the new flags have pretty colours?
• ???
• ???
• ???

That's basically the only reason I could think of! I really don't think that there should be a new flag.

So if the flag is going to be changed here are some of the designs I hope would win.

I like the whole concept of the long white cloud idea with this one.




I like this one as it is pretty similar to our current flag but the designer has incorporated some cool Maori designs into it.






I like this one as it has one of the most iconic NZ symbols -the fern on it.






My last choice is this one. I like it as it has a silver fern and the southern cross.



If I had to choose one of the four it would have to be the 1st one! I guess this is the end of the blog post, I hope you all enjoyed reading about my opinions on the flag change.
