My favourite art style I like do is drawing/sketching. Some of the things I like to draw are animals, hairstyles, eyeballs and dancers. I'm not the sort of person who likes to draw all the cutesy-pie kittens and puppies. I like to draw animals like a leopard stalking his prey or an enraged rhino.
For some reason I like drawing peoples hair and eyes, I think I like drawing these things as someone's eyes and hair sort of expresses who they are and what their personality is like. For instance I could easily tell whether a girl is a tomboy or a girly girl depending on their hair and eyes.
My last favourite thing that I like to draw is dancers. I only really started liking to draw dancers last year when I went to the British Art Gallery in London and I saw some paintings by an artist called Edgar Degas. Degas mainly painted ballet dancers. I loved how he could capture the movement and intensity of the dancer in his paintings. Degas would make a dancer do leaps over and over again for hours to capture that moment of when the dancers flexibility and poise is at their highest. He also showed the determination and pain on the dancers face to show that ballet isn't just a bunch of girls hopping around in tutus you actually have to go through a lot of pain and be very determined if you want to become any good. Anyway so I had a go at drawing dancers myself and now I love to draw them.
Something that I need to work on in art is probably shading. I think that for the art exhibition we could do more 3-D art. Altogether I think that art is very interesting and that if you don't enjoy doing art you should give it another go.
So that's this weeks blog post about Art!
This is some artwork I recently did.
