Nairnville
This term we have been walking down to Nairnville recreation centre every Thursday to do sports. A few weeks ago we finished the gymnastics program. Gymnastics is one of my favorite things we do at Nairnville as we just do things like cartwheels, walking along a beam and handstands. After gymnastics we tried rippa rugby. I am not the best at rippa rugby as I play netball a lot so it feels weird to run with the ball. I try to get involved but certain people take it really seriously and never pass to me so I just sort of run up and down the court like a headless chicken. Last week we played football. I thought that football was an improvement to rippa rugby as I was actually passed to and I kicked the ball in the right direction. For future Nairville lessons I would like to try something different. For the past 4 or 5 years we have gone around in circles doing football, rugby , hockey, gymnastics... all the sports that I am bored of. I think we should try something adventurous like a sport that no one has ever heard of. Altogether I do enjoy Nairnville but I think it would be better if we changed things up once in a while.

Eins, Zwei, Drei, Vier.....
.....Funf, Szechs, Sieben, Acht. If you haven't already guessed we have been learning German in class. I have learnt many things such as to count to twenty, ask someone's name and ask someone when their birthday is. I might continue German when I go to college next year. My mum lived in Germany for a while so she might want me to take German but I have been taking French lessons for the past 7 years so I will probably do that. I think knowing just a little bit of German will help me in life. There are lots of people around the world who speak German. Plus next week I am going overseas and we are transiting through Frankfurt in Germany so I can test out my new skills. Altogether I think German is an interesting language even though it is difficult at times.

Chasing The Valley- Skyfire
"I have to use my proclivity", I think. I reach out for that part of my mind that calls to the night. And ever so gently, the night calls back". That quote is from the last book in the chasing the valley trilogy- Skyfire. Chasing the valley is a trilogy about a girl named Danika who escapes from her heavily guarded city with a group of refugees. They are trying to reach a place called the magnetic valley. A place where everything is peaceful and no one can hurt them. Skyfire is about the crew reaching the magnetic valley and realising that it is not as they expected.
There is a sense of magic in the books. When you turn 18 you reveal the tattoo on the back of your neck, that tattoo is called a proclivity. A proclivity is sort of a power that you can control, some proclivities are earth, beast, night, air and dawn. I liked the book as there is a lot of intensity and emotions. Sometimes you feel happy about something that has happened then suddenly you feel like crying. My favorite character is a tie between two of the kids in the refugee group- Teddy and Maisy. Teddy is really funny and always making a joke out of things even if it isn't the right time. Maisy is quite quiet but comes out of her shell as a completely different person than you think she is. I would recommend the Chasing the valley series to people ages 11 to 14. Chasing the valley is one of my favorite series that I would read again and again.
