Book Week!
Most of you probably know that last week was book week! For this weeks post I'm going to tell you about my top 3 favorite things from book week.
1. Book character day and the book quiz
For book character day Catherine and I arranged to dress up as bunches of grapes from the very hungry caterpillar. It was quite difficult but also very fun having a whole lot of balloons attached to me. Unfortunately we had two tests on Friday so I had to tackle the difficult task of taking my bunch of grapes off a few times so that I would be able to sit down.
Another one of my highlights was the book quiz! So for the past couple of weeks the rest of the House Captains and I had been organising the book quiz and it was great to see it all come together. I was very very happy to find out that Brigidine had won all the year group quiz's. Unfortunately we received a complaint from *cough cough Ngatoto* that we had 3 year 8s and only 1 year 7 on our team, sadly we were disqualified from that particular competition. Personally I didn't think that it was a very fair decision considering that Catherine and I were never told about that rule but I guess that the decision has been made and we can't really do much about it now.
2. Kate De Goldi visit.
Another highlight from book week was when Kate De Goldi came to visit. Kate De Goldi is a very well known New Zealand author and it was very interesting to hear about her view on being an author. She talked bout where she got her ideas and told us lots of interesting stories about her life as an author. She seemed to be really enthusiastic about what she does and I really enjoyed this area if book week.
3. The last area of book week that I really enjoyed was the golden tickets!
Unfortunately I wasn't quick enough to get one but I did try. I thought it was funny how some people spent their whole lunchtime constantly refreshing the blog to see if another clue was up. Then of course there was the huge stampede as soon as the next clue was up! It was really fun to try work out the clues for the golden tickets and to have a go at finding them.
So that was my view on book week, I hope you all enjoyed it as well!
See y'all next week :)
