So last week we had our first Australian football- AFL lesson.
I've never been that good at sports that include kicking a ball, when I kick a ball it always seems to roll like two metres in the complete wrong direction ( don't judge.) So I told myself to just go yolo in this AFL lesson.
So basically that's what I did. When we had to all kick the ball forward, everybodys ball flew gracefully in the right in the right direction. Mine however shot straight up into the air , and I thought this was pretty impressive considering when I usually kick a ball it goes nowhere. Just as I turned around my ball fell straight fast my face (I'm not kidding it literally skimmed my nose). That was the highlight of the lesson for me.
Some things that we learned at AFL were-
1. Laces away from faces.
2.Crosses up and down
3.Toes pointed when kicking the ball.
AFL is very different to any other sports that I have played before as there are some super weird kicking and throwing techniques. I think that it will be interesting to see how I go will go with the rest of the lessons.
See y'all next week
Great post Grace! We were soo good at AFL!
