Christmas is coming!!!!
EEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Christmas is almost here! When you know that there is only 4 and a half more days of school it definitely is almost Christmas. Every year on Christmas day after we open up all the presents my family goes to Christchurch. We have Christmas dinner with all the family on my dads side. We usually stay there for about a week and a half.
One of my favourite parts of Christmas is...... the tree! My family always gets areal Christmas tree and a fake one. We always get the biggest real Christmas tree (that will fit in our house :) ) from a Christmas tree farm in the Wairarapa.
Another one of my favourite traditions is on Christmas eve we always invite a bunch of friends over and (attempt) to make gingerbread houses! last year Aisling and I did one together and it actually turned out well! A week later we decided to make another one but my sister while making the batter thought that the recipe said put 1 tablespoon of baking soda in, it actually said 1 teaspoon of baking soda! The gingerbread came out tasting disgusting!
A tradition (it's not really a tradition) that me and my sister do is that on Christmas morning we sit in her room watching the alarm clock (this generally happens at 3 o'clock) and do roly polys! It may sound weird but it does pass the time as we have to wait until 6 o'clock until we arte allowed to wake our parents up.
I think this years Christmas is going to be really awesome. Since this is my last official blog post for the year I guess I will wish all the year 8s luck at college and to everyone Merry Christmas!
